FAMILY EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM
Empower Women, Empower the Family.
If you empower the women, you empower the family, and then you empower the community.
Communities are transformed through grassroots economic development which provides a catalyst to transition from dependency towards self-sufficiency and stability. Our anti-trafficking network indigenous partners and the children and women we serve are equipped to be innovative and self-sufficient. We invest in strategic initiatives such as large-scale farming, small business income generation, and savings groups to create a path towards economic independence and flourishing.
Our Family Empowerment Program consists of several different moving parts; these parts are Microloans, Financial Training and our Vocational Program, and each program focuses on teaching the women different things that will help them in their businesses, and in their homes.
Micro-Loans Program
Our goal for this program is to reach out to these women through financial literacy. We train them for two months, then we do an assessment on their businesses and home, and then we finally provide them with a small loan to boost their business to help it grow
Financial Training
The program employs a VSLA (Village Saving and Loaning Association) approach, which promotes finance independence at individual level. We help vulnerable people to become financially literate and provide support in business and entrepreneurship skills.
Vocational Program
Our vocational training programme is designed for both women and orphan children to help them become more independent. The hands-on skills we pass onto them help them to start projects or business that will elevate them out of poverty.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING FOR CHILDREN
Help prepare Orphaned Children for their future
Our vocational training programme helps orphan children transition into adulthood and become more independent. Some of the workshops that are running today include hairdressing, sewing, IT skills, metal fabrication, art crafts, shoe making, carpentry, bricklaying and soap making. The children are then presented with a graduation certificate before they successfully transition into employment.
Supporting Agriculture
We promote agri-business for youth by working with young farmer groups to support post-harvest handling and marketing, establishing centralized stores and providing crop processing equipment. We also work with Community Animal Health Workers to improve livestock health, milk production and low-scale commercial practices for pastoralist communities
VOCATIONAL TRAINING FOR WOMEN
Through this program, we empower the women through hands-on training by teaching the women different skills such as life skills and how to make paper bags, kitchen gardening, baking, soap making, candle making. By teaching them these crafts, they are able to make extra money. Right now, we are currently teaching them how to make necklaces, but our goal is to further that and teach them how to make bags, books and anything that will help provide more money.
We have seen great success through our Family Empowerment Program, and the Organization has grown tremendously. Women are moving out of poverty, they’re able to put their kids back in school and they’re buying land. It has been super encouraging to see these women go from absolutely nothing to something, but we have bigger goals for these women and for this initiative.
