Mission

To assist children to overcome difficult life circumstances by building resilience, physically, emotionally, spiritually and psychologically, using a Right’s based framework, so they are able to realize their full potential and contribute to the building of Uganda.

Core Values

Four core values form the bedrock of the work of Bewell Childcare Initiative (BCI), abbreviated by the acronym “DICE”.

Dignity

We respect the inherent worth and dignity of each child, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Integrity

We uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of our work

Compassion

We believe in showing kindness, empathy, and understanding to every child who comes through our doors.

Empowerment

We empower children to discover their strengths, talents, and aspirations, and support them in achieving their goals.

Faith Statement

We at Bewell Child Care Initiative (BCCI) believe that all children are loved by God. Throughout Scripture, we see God’s heart for the fatherless and James 1:27 makes very clear the mandate to care for orphaned children to His glory. We believe that one of the responsibilities of God’s people is to care for widows, orphans, and those who have been marginalized by the economic and social systems of the world. It is to that end that we come alongside the body of Christ to support the most vulnerable children in our BEWELL Children’s Home to provide for their needs and give them opportunity to go to school, access medical care, and provide opportunities to learn a new trade for future employment. Our end goal is to see every child reach the potential that God has for them.
